The city council did approve the project but they were told it was only to secure the bonds. They were further advised that they would be able to change the project and that was misinformation from the city staff.
Adding to the bad information or neglecting to be forthcoming, Skip Alston did not advise his fellow commissioners he was the broker for the hotel deal.
